OLYMPIA’S GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
AQUA AEROBICS: A very low impact cardio and muscle toning workout in chest deep water. Perfect for beginners, arthritis sufferers, and cross-trainers seeking low injury/risk activity. No swimming skills are required.
BOOTCAMP: An interval training workout which utilizes simple and challenging drills alternated with periods of active and inactive recovery.
CARDIO SCULPT: This challenging class alternates circuit intervals of 1) slow basic step with upper body weights 2) lower body sculpting moves (a variety of squats & lunges) & 3) higher intensity “energy sprints”. By keeping your heart rate up…even during the toning segments…you’ll maximize fat burning as you build lean muscle.
GROUP CYCLING: An exercise program utilizing a specifically designed stationary bicycle and a series of cycling movements that provide a very challenging workout. You will be guided by the instructor through a variety of visual and auditory techniques to motivate and simulate a bike ride.
HYDROTONE: A body sculpting class in chest deep water. Smooth, controlled movements are performed with foam dumbbells and “dynabands” in order to strengthen the muscles as well as to increase range of motion.
MISSIE’S POWERHOUR: An hour workout that challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for….and fast!
PILATES: Use your mind, body, and breath together in specialized exercises to help achieve a long, lean bodyline and improve your posture. Pilates focuses on your body’s “core”: The abs, back, and buttocks. This is a non-impact workout that’s good for anyone regardless of fitness level.
SilverSneakers®-Muscular Strength & Range of Movement: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
SilverSneakers-YogaStretch: This class will move your whole body through a complete series of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills, hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
TURBOKICK: A powerful interval based class that combines shadow boxing, kickboxing, sports drills, and simple dance moves in a fun atmosphere that is sure to challenge any fitness level.
YOGA: Learn to develop the relationship between movement & breath in a flowing warm-up sequence of “Sun-salutations”. Then proceed to a well chosen variety of standing, seated, and reclined postures designed to enhance strength, balance, and flexibility.
